Fresh Friday - Soap

After all the hateful, bitter, lovely, beautiful words I've spoken throughout the duration of this blog, I believe that it's about time to "wash my mouth out with 'Soap'"

Coining the new segment Fresh Friday in accordance to freshly released tracks, hot off the music presses comes Miss Melanie Martinez's Soap off of her upcoming debut album titled Cry Baby which is set to release this coming August.

Get ready for a bubble bath to cleanse thy palette with this alternative pop record. With this song, Melanie speaks of the struggle that many of us face in holding back the truth that's on our minds, and then bashing ourselves for finally saying the things that we shouldn't have said out loud (dirty bit..). 

This regret soaked anthem is anything but squeaky clean and that is a good thing. The dirty grime that Melanie tries to scrub away is definitely depicted in her recently released video for the track. I personally love her visuals and it's always beautiful the new vintage takes that her visuals portray.

The video is very LIMBO-esque. (you get brownie points if you understood that (;)
