FLASHBACK FRIDAY - Oh No!

Diamonds rejoice in today's time travel to not Forget one of the great masterpieces our Froot goddess released prior to reaffirm her position in pop stardom today.

Coming in as today's contender this Flashback Friday is the one & only Marina & The Diamonds with her insatiable track Oh No! off of her debut album The Family Jewels, released back in 2010. Oh No! basically sums up the track and all of it's glory, but not for negative reasons, rather a warning to other pop stars that she's coming for the crown. Musically, the beat is quite simple with the same piano progression throughout the track and bass hitting sounds of such. Lyrically, Marina expresses to the world that she's assured herself of exactly who she is and that she's "become [her] own self-fulfilled prophecy. Oh No!"

Marina's overall sound on the housing album was very much sheltered in the realm of alternative music, with a pinch of pop glitter, which eventually lead to her pop explosion known as Electra Heart, but let's not jump ahead.

In regards to her video, it'll definitely send comic book geeks into a frenzy with all of it's literal POP and BANG typed out actions. Marina definitely had more of a quirky aspect to her visual during this phase by comparison to the Primadonna visage she used continually throughout her next phase, which was identified with the heart on her cheek. (Electra is dead & gone...R.I.P.)
